2013 Topps will be available at the end of January and I can not wait. In the past few years, Topps has shown up at retail stores before the hobby stores get their shipments. Around January 20th I'll be looking for these at my local Wal Mart:
The one thing I'm most excited about at this point in time with 2013 Topps are pennant cards. These pennant cards bring back an element of card collecting that I have not seen since the mid-nineties. Back then, Topps held a promotion in their Stadium Club brand in which if you held the card of the team that won their division, you would win a special set of cards. I'm glad to see that Topps is revisiting this type of promotion because it makes me feel closer to the game -- especially since I'll be rooting for the teams in which I have pennant cards. At this point in time, I do not know what the prizes are for holding the cards of teams that win their division, but I'm sure it will be something worth having in my collection. I have a message into Topps asking for more information and I'll pass it on to you if I hear back.
