The Topps Sell Sheet / Photo Project — 1974

The 1974 Topps set has some fond memories for me as a kid. When I was in fifth grade and living in Skillman, NJ, our librarian at Orchard Road Elementary School, Mrs. Wendall, knew that I liked baseball cards and gave me a shoebox full one day. Every card in the shoebox was from 1974. Lots of star cards like Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson, and Hank Aaron. I was very appreciative of this and her generosity is still remembered by me today. Over the years I have built a solid 1974 Topps near mint set that I have put away in a binder. I don't have a sell sheet from 1974 but I do have an interesting photo from the 1974 Topps production line. Think Topps still uses these methods to pack and ship???

Probably not. I sure would like to have a few of those boxes rolling off the presses! Here are some more pictures of a 1974 Topps wrapper and boxes:

Stay tuned as I will soon show you a sell sheet I have from 1975.

Thanks!
