Growing up as an eight year old I vividly remember collecting 1979 Topps cards. I probably had about 500-1000 of them although I didn't have a complete set. I remember discovering an error card in my own. Back in the day, we didn't have Google or any other source to tell us about error cards, we just had to find them on our own. I remember finding these two:
Another thing I remember collecting at the time which is laughed at today were cards that were off centered. Back then, getting cards out of packs that were miscut were considered rare so I collected them. Ended up trading them away after I found out that I was probably the only person in the world who found these cards to be cool.
After I graduated from college, I ended up buying the 1979 Topps set in mint condition. I have it stored away in a binder and I have a copy of the 1979 Topps sell sheet to go along with it. Here is a copy of that:
