King Felix throws baseball’s 23rd Perfect Game!

Today, Felix Hernandez took the mound for the Mariners and tossed MLB's 23rd perfect game at Safeco Field in Seattle.  This is the first time that a perfect game has been thrown  twice at the same stadium in the same year.  King Felix was simply amazing as it was fun to watch the Tampa Bay Rays struggle at the plate.  The one big thing I take away from this great day in baseball is this quote from Felix in his post game press conference:  "I've been working so hard to throw one and there it is - for you guys" as he was referencing the fans of Seattle.  Of all the Mariners, Felix has to be the greatest of all time.  Sure, Ichiro was consistently good during his career there, but there have been countless times I can remember when Felix would throw a gem of a game and yet still lose because he would never get any run support.  And the voters agreed in 2010 as he won the Cy Young award with almost a losing record (13-12).  Congratulations to King Felix!  Maybe he can do it again this year!
