Well after some trades for a few 1953 cards, I'm happy to report that I'm now 1,027 cards shy of my complete Topps set run. I also picked up a few from 1958 (Bill Skowron, Red Schoendienst, and Enos Slaughter) from my good friend Leon in New Jersey. He's been helping me a bunch the past few years with this lifelong quest. My collection wouldn't be what it is today without him. Thanks Leon!
So what's next? Well, I've been planning a trip to my "local" card shop since Christmas but I haven't made it there yet. I probably shouldn't call it local since it is about 100 miles away. Once I get down there, my goal is to pick up a bunch of raw 1953 and 1954 cards as needed for my sets. I'll eventually get them graded since all cards in my 1951 through 1954 sets will be graded by PSA.
